A WAVE OF PLACEMENTS IN THE DEBUT OF THE BOTTECCHIA FACTORY TEAM

The Orvieto Bike Marathon was the first official race on the calendar with which the Bottecchia Factory Team began the competitive season. The bikers and the staff faced this new adventure with determination and optimism. The race, which is part of Umbria Tuscany Mtb, took place on Sunday 6 March, on a track of 40 km and 1300 meters in altitude. It was undoubtedly an excellent opportunity to test both the new bikes and the new technical material. A way then to show off the flaming red-black uniforms and above all to check the point of the condition.
And what were the results obtained? Giuseppe Panariello took an absolute fifth position, followed in sixth place in the general classification by Domenico Valerio. “On the occasion of the season debut – said Panariello – the pace was very high from the start. Despite this, I managed to always remain in the top positions. Without a doubt the opponents played as a team and I remained in their “grip”. In the end, the fight for the podium saw a very close sprint. Unfortunately, not being very fast, I finished fifth. However, I am really satisfied with my performance, as the condition is already good. ”
Captain Franz Hofer, on the other hand, finished eleventh overall. Among the under 23s, Giantonio Mazzola did well, who got on the third step of the podium, Riccardo Servadei and Daniele Feola respectively fifth and sixth in the same category. In the absolute twenty-five also Francesco Bonetto. Among the amateurs, to underline, the fifth place of Angelo Morena in the M7.
Finally, here are also the considerations of the president Alessandro Anzivino: ”The first race was closed – he underlined – with a good, although not excellent overall result. Now we will try to put ourselves even more in sight in the next demonstrations. “
