HOFER IN THE TOP TEN AT THE BARDOLINO BIKE
The captain of the Bottecchia Factory Team Franz Hofer reached the top ten of the Bardolino Bike, ridden on Sunday in the Veneto town of the same name. Indeed, Franz managed to finish sixth, ahead of Tony Longo, and immediately behind some bigs of the fat wheels like Chiarini, Failli and Paez, just to name a few riders.
“The Bardolino Bike was the first real marathon of this season – commented Hofer – they were 66km, with 2000 meters of elevation gain, covered quickly, despite the numerous tears and technical sections. The track, however, was suitable for my characteristics and I’m happy with the result, because it gave me great motivation for the next races. Without a doubt our mountain bikes and the technical material were important in contributing to this performance. ”
Riccardo Servadei also did well, finishing twenty-seventh overall, while Domenico Valerio finished the race, despite a stone having caused his wheel to break. Thirty-fifth, however, for Andrea Piantoni. And again, in the short, an excellent fourth place for the junior Davide Pulizzi.
Finally, Francesco Bonetto, in the Xc of Campochiesa, crossed the finish line twenty-third and is satisfied as he felt good sensations in view of the upcoming event in Monteriggioni.
