KEVIN RIVERA WINS THE SIBIU TOUR, RECORD ANDRONI SIDERMEC GIOCATTOLI
Mission accomplished. Kevin Rivera wins the Sibiu Cycling Tour bringing the 21st win of the season to the Androni Giocattoli Sidermec. The 21-year-old rider from Costa Rica has kept the yellow jersey of leader of the Romanian first-class race (2.1 Uci Europe Tour) at the end of the fourth and final stage. Rivera, always well protected by his teammates, had won the queen stage of the race at Balea Lac in front of the other Androni Giocattoli Sidermec Daniel Muñoz. And Muñoz himself finished second in the overall standings.
Rivera also established himself in the ranking of young people, while in that of the mountain’s grand prizes went to comrade Muñoz.
For Androni Giocattoli Sidermec, which made the team ranking its own, is yet another success in the Romanian race, as team manager Gianni Savio recalls: “We are proud to have won this race of the first category for the third consecutive year international Uci calendar. Egan Bernal in 2017, Ivan Sosa in 2018 and now Kevin Rivera are the expression of our youth project. Bernal and Sosa have already switched to the World Tour, while Rivera and Daniel Muñoz will stay with us and will be joined by young Simone Ravanelli, Nicola Venchiarutti, Kevin Colleoni, Filippo Conca and other talents we are monitoring in Europe and South America.
