It was a good Adriatica Ionica Race that ended yesterday for the Androni Giocattoli Sidermec. In terms of results, the team placed three riders in the top-15 of the race; on the contrary, unfortunately the misfortune brought us a hand with the forced stop of three runners due to falls and physical problems. Daniel Munoz ninth, Fausto Masnada thirteenth and Matteo Busato fifteenth: these are the good final placings in the general won by Ukrainian Mark Padun of Bahrain Merida.

The race, which ended yesterday in Trieste with the sprint of Hodeg by Deceuninck, was taken Wednesday with a criterium from Mestre to then experience the stage of dirt roads towards Grado, the arrival at high altitude at Lake Misurina and the finish line at Cormons on Saturday. On the dirt roads for the Italian champions Mattia Cattaneo was very good at staying in the best group, only to have to turn up white the next day due to stomach problems. The same unfortunate fate, but a stage later, also for Manuel Belletti. After the fraction of Grado, however, the Colombian Miguel Florez, who was involved in a fall, was not shared. In Misurina the best of the champions was, instead, Daniel Munoz, on the run and tenth at the finish line. And speaking of escape, we must point out the wonderful action of Fausto Masnada on Cormons Day. In the open virtually all over the fraction the Bergamo was resumed, when he was alone at the bridging, in the final by the unleashed Remco Evenenpol and on the final rip by the avant-garde of the group. Masnada was the longest running jersey in the long run.

Even at the end of the Adriatica Ionica Race the Androni Giocattoli Sidermec, which finished third in the team standings at the time of the race, remains at the top of the Cycling Cup. And just in the Venetian opening the Italian champions on stage sign the first stage had worn the red leader’s jersey of the challenge that will now resume in September with the Coppa Agostoni. In the Cycling Cup to lead the individual and youth rankings, then, it is always the Androni Giocattoli Sidermec with Fausto Masnada.
