The first Italian victory of the season is ours. Like one, two and three years ago. It ended in exactly the same way as the last seasons the first stage of the vuelta to the tachira in Venezuela. For the Androni Giocattoli Sidermec, in fact, the debut in South America always seems to rhyme with victory. This time to start the new year with a  winning sprint on the new EMME 4 Team was Luca pacioni, the sprinter from Romagna returning from the champions of Italy with which he had already run a couple of seasons.

The first Italian team to win in this 2020, the androni Giocattoli Sidermec at the Venezuelan stage race continues its beautiful tradition. On the Tariba circuit in San Cristobal (117.6 km total divided into 8 laps) the champions of Italy, led by team manager Gianni Savio and sports director Giampaolo Cheula, they checked well to launch their first sprinter in the final sprint. The last forerunner for the 26-year-old Pacioni was Nicola Venchiarutti, who then closed again close to ten (12°). Pacioni, who at the end of this first stage also dressed the yellow jersey of leader of the general classification, preceded the Venezuelans Yaguaro and Salinas.

On the podium of the day to reward the winner (to the fifth success in career) also the Venezuelan deputy minister of sport Juan Carlos amarante who has long entertained with the team manager of androni Giocattoli Sidermec Gianni Savio. From the friendly conversation, followed also by the meeting with sport minister Pedro Infante, it seems that the government is willing to honour the old debt with the team, related to the 2014 sponsorship, and to start a new project aimed at the growth of young Venezuelan runners with Gianni Savio as a mentor.
