AREAZERO D’AMICO BOTTECCHIA: The season continues in France
Good results for the Area Zero-D’Amico-Bottecchia Team in France. On saturday and sunday the team partecipated in two UCI 1.1 competitions, the GP de Plumelec and the Boucles de l’Aulne, where Marco Tizza made two great placements, 7th and 6th place.
“The placements of Tizza are very good for us, above all considering that the general level was so high. At the first places there were important names such as AG2R, FDJ and Cofidis, that are preparing for the Tour de France. Tizza is living a very good period, he has a great sprint and he is able also to face demanding climbs. In Plumelec also Iltjan Nika has been protagonist of a nice sprint, winning some Traguardi Volanti and Kom” explains the team coach Massimo Codol.
The bad note of the weekend is the serious injury to the pinkie of the right hand of Fabio Tommasini, due to a bad fall. The rider has been rescued and carried to the hospital of Quimper to have surgery. “Unfortunately in this job these kind of problems are common. On one side we are satisfied for the results of the team, but on the other we are worried for the injury of Tommassini. Now he has only to be focused on recover, all the team and the staff are with him.” explains Codol.
Next appointment for the team will be the Ronde de l’Oise, short stage race from 9th to 12th June. “Here the positive note is for sure the come back of Antonino Parrinello, who is back after a long injury that penalized him in the first part of the season” says Codol.
Good luck guys!
