RONDE DE L’OISE, GREAT VICTORY WITH ANTONINO PARRINELLO!

Big emotions for Area Zero D’Amico Bottecchia Team on the streets of the north of the France. The continental team made a great performance at Ronde de l’Oise, short stage race UCI 2.2 ridden from the 9th to the 12th of June.

Here comes the first seasonal victory of the team. A great success, really wanted and desired from the team directed by the manager Ivan De Paolis. The author of the great result has been Antonino Parrinello, the rider who conquered the general classification of Ronde de l’Oise.

On friday the 10th, Parrinello placed second at the second stage, after a long sprint of 5 riders that lasted almost all the race. On the finishing line it has been necessary the photofinish and many minutes of meeting for the jury to declare the winner. Only few seconds separated the first and the second one. Parrinello, great protagonist of the race, started the 4th and last stage with 5″ from the leader, the Belgian Dries De Bondt.

We knew that 5″ could be many as not. We started with big intentions. Ciavatta and Bocchiola worked hard in the first part, then Tizza and Parrinello took action. There was a sprint of 7 riders. The yellow jersey De Bondt had some problems so we held on. The goal was to work hard until the end, thinking about the general classification. But with a great bad luck, Parrinello pierced both the wheels at the second to last lap. Tizza immediately gave his bike and Parri started again with big determination, reaching the group of the 5. This time we have been stronger than bad luck” says the team coach Massimo Codol.

For Antonino Parrinello, the Sicilian born in 1988, it was the first victory with the team.

I’m really happy, it seemed this victory didn’t want to come. Last year I had many good placements, and some days ago I made again second. Finally today the first place has come. We are on the right road now and I hope to continue in this way. The first part of the season has been very hard due to the accident at the Giro dell’Appennino, but now I’m ready to go on. I thank the team for the confidence and the support. Everyone of them deserve a piece of this jersery” says the winner Antonino Parrinello.

I’m really happy for Parrinello and all the team. I’m sure this victory will bring big motivation to the athletes. This is the demonstration that the hard work always pays. In this moment we have many riders who can do a very good work: Genovese, Tizza, Nika, Ciavatta and Bocchiola. Now we look at next appointments, the National championship and the Sibiu Tour in Romania” explains the team manager Ivan De Paolis.
