ANDRONI SIDERMEC PROTAGONIST IN COLOMBIA: FOURTH MALUCELLI
Immediately a fourth place for Androni Sidermec at Oro y Paz, the new international calendar race that opened today in Colombia. The rider of the Italian champions on the shields, as happened at the beginning of the season, was Matteo Malucelli. The sprinter from Romagna brought home an excellent fourth place in the sprint of the first stage of Palmira (100 km) won by the re-entrant, and the idol of the house, Fernando Gaviria. The Colombian sprinter had been involved in San Juan in Argentina in the same fall that had seen protagonist, in spite of himself, even Androni Sidermec Manuel Belletti. In the first sprint in Colombia, Molano and Richeze ended up behind Gaviria. Malucelli instead, left behind, among others, Andrea Guardini and Davide Viganò.
So, after the good start in Venezuela, with four partial successes, and in Argentina, with the second place in the team classification, the Italian champions still show the best condition in the “South American tour” of this beginning of 2018. Determined and ready to battle, as always, the runners of the team manager Gianni Savio, led in Colombia by the diesse Alessandro Spezialetti, are highlighting in this start of the season the fruits of good winter preparation and the nature of all time.
The Colombian race, which sees several World Tour teams at the start, will continue tomorrow with the second stage still in Palmira, the conclusion on Sunday.
