Bottecchia Factory Team: two high-level weekends, between the World Cup and the Costa degli Etruschi Epic

For the Bottecchia Factory Team, the last two weekends were fiery. Two spectacular locations, Elba Island and Bibbona, hosted two real mountain bike events in succession: the Capoliveri Legend Cup and the Costa degli Etruschi Epic.

The Capoliveri Legend Cup, this year valid as the first World Cup event, saw the best athletes in the world at the start: a top-level test for the entire team. And the team performance left nothing to be desired: in this particular competition, the first sixty classified athletes would have earned valid points for the World Cup ranking. No sooner said than done: Cortesi, Valdrighi and Bertone managed to gain a good position, among the first 40, also useful for a good score.

Despite the efforts of Capoliveri and the few days available to recover, the Bottecchia Factory Team also responded present at the Costa degli Etruschi Epic. This historic race of the Italian panorama, also classified Uci, called to the start all the best athletes of the tricolor. Among these, also the red-black Bottecchia, who were always in the game: despite a puncture for Masi (then climbed up to 18th place), Valdrighi, Cortesi and Bertone closed the Tuscan race in eleventh, twelfth and thirteenth place respectively. Very important results, if compared to the parterre of undoubted level: even many, strong, foreigners (fresh from the Elba of the previous week) did not want to miss this technical test, as long and demanding.

But the Bottecchia Factory Team was also busy with Federico Ottino at Gardone in Bike. Federico, here, managed to obtain an important second place at the end of a tricky race, especially from an altimetric point of view. An outcome that gives morale to the whole team, but above all it proves to be a further confirmation of the solidity of the young debutant, in his first year in the Team.

Looking to the future, let's take a look at the next events: on June 1st it will be time to return to Monselice in Rosa; on June 8th the big event with the European Championship in Caselle (Liguria); finally, on June 22nd, the Team will be competing twice, both at the Gf Città di Poppi and at the Via del Sale.
