LA RONDA, the classic of the north(east) pays homage to Ottavio Bottecchia

La Ronda is a cycling tour inspired by the Northern Classics, which takes place among the hills of the "Trevigian Flanders". As can be read from the organisation's website , it is a mix of fun, adventure and effort to rediscover a different type of cycling. This year, on the occasion of the Bottecchia Centenary , the route offers an itinerary through the "rips" symbolizing the places where the legendary cycling champion was born.

Without haste or competitiveness, the participants are not adversaries but travel companions, and the exasperation of the competition gives way to conviviality and aggregation. An inclusive event, where the route does not define the vehicle but on the contrary opens up transversally to road bikes, mountain bikes or gravel bikes, electric or muscular. All crowned by a mix of taste and beauty, with wine and good food in the wonderful UNESCO Heritage scenery of the Prosecco hills.

Our Simone Venturelli tells us about it riding his Gravel Monster , with which he tackled the longest route " 100km of pure enjoyment immersed in greenery and with views that would take your mind away". After departing from Conegliano, the route winds along the wonderful Prosecco hills and then arrives at Colle Umberto, home to the Ottavio Bottecchia museum.

Simone defines it as a "spatial event to say the least" with 17 walls, some of which have slopes exceeding 20%. But it reassures that the surrounding spectacle is able to repay every effort, and make the journey totally pleasant.

Simone is a storyteller who has decided to experience cycling in a different way, discovering new places and always new emotions. For his travels he chose Gravel Monster, the double thickness 6061 aluminum adventure bike that is fast on asphalt, but not afraid of dirt roads and dirt roads. Ready for adventure, it's ideal for hiking, bike packing and nature trips. Follow him on his breathtaking itineraries, and be ready to get excited in the world of unsupported bike events.
